A Glimpse of Oceanside, California

Where would one stay when visiting Oceanside, California?

Well, by the side of the ocean sounds logical, doesn’t it.

Welcome to the Pacific Ocean at Oceanside, California.

The pier here in Oceanside is an historic one…

it is a wooden pier (not that many wooden piers left) and it is very long.

Take a walk out on the pier and you likely will meet a pelican near the bait shop

Now can you see what is down in the water? Thought they were seals at first didn’t you.

It is quite the romantic sight as the sun sets.

The beach is perfect for taking long walks….

and if you walk far enough north from the pier you will arrive at this lovely spot.

We visited in December and were able to take a trip a little farther north up the coast

to Newport Beach where we took in a Christmas Boat Parade.

we admired the decorated boats.

I am used to lights on Christmas trees, so this is quite a treat.

This one gets my vote for Best in the Parade.
