Today we are on the hop-on hop-off bus for the mini peninsula tour from Cape Town, South Africa. Yesterday we took the red line for a city tour

(Click here if you missed that city tour)

so today we are on the blue line. A few of the stops at the start of  the tour are the same as yesterdays so lets head straight out into the countryside east of the city.

199a

Still rather cloudy at the higher elevations, isn’t it.

We are now on the opposite side of the mountains on Rhodes Drive and there is the entrance to the world renowned botanical gardens…

200a

Kirstenbosch Gardens.

(We will come back tomorrow so we can visit at leisure. Click here to join us at Kirstenbosch.)

Oh, look, there is the bus we can transfer to if we want to take the wine tour.

202a

If we transfer, the bus will take us into the grape growing (and wine making) areas of Constantia. Want to taste some South African wines?

204a

Now we are approaching the Imizamo Yethu Township. Tours are available here.

Continuing on on the Hout Bay Road we arrive in (go figure) Hout Bay.

206a

Let’s get off here for a while.

(Click here to see more of Hout Bay.)

210a

Once boarding the bus again, we travel along the coast…Indian Ocean? Atlantic Ocean?

I am confused!!!

Here we are in Camps Bay. Let’s explore here a bit.

214a

(Click here to explore Camps Bay with us.)

Now let’s sit back and enjoy the scenery as we travel along the coast past Clifton, Bantry Bay, Seaport and other communities.

( I should have mentioned…click on any photo on the page to enlarge it.)

216a

(Can you imagine having to back out of the garages on the right hand side of the photo! I do not think I could to it without having a panic attack!)

And there is the Green Point lighthouse near Three Anchor Bay.

222a

Aside: I know the bus narration had something about the history of this lighthouse, but right now I do not recall what it was!

On my, the stadium looks so different from this angle, does it not. The stadium was used in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Remember we used a long distance lens to take a photo of this same stadium from the top of Table Mountain the other day. (Click here if you missed that posting).

Looks different when seen from on high, eh.

Well, here we are back at the Waterfront. Hope you enjoyed taking the mini peninsula tour.
