Copenhagen, a glimpse of

Here we are in Copenhagen, Denmark for the day. Now what would you want to see if you had only one day?
Well, a lot of people seem to want to see whatever these boats are lining up for! Wonder what it could be?
Of course, I should have known.
So much of Copenhagen can be seen from the water, so if time is at a premium…
a boat tour is a good way to travel.
I was impressed by the variety of shapes found on the horizon…especially the steeples.
And this is where the Royal Family would wait for their water transportation to arrive.
Aside: I guess they did not get the message that we were in town, or I am sure they would have been there to wave.
There are hop-on hop-off bus tours in Copenhagen…another efficient way for those of us with limited time.
My favourite stop on the bus tour…Rosenborg Castle.
Located in the heart of the city, Rosenborg Castle is surrounded by lovely gardens and filled with art treasures. Danish history comes alive as you move from room to room.
Here in the Knights’ Hall are the Coronation Thrones guarded by three (life size) silver tigers.

But the highlight for me was in the basement.
Yes, in the vaults in the basement
where you can get up close and personal with the crowns of Danish kings and queens.
