Along the coastline of Normandy there are many monuments that memorialize what happened here in World War II. Here are some that can be found near Juno Beach in France.
Juno Beach was the code name for the sector where Canadian troops landed on D-Day…June 6, 1944.

Our tour guide pointed out that after the war ended the Polish soldiers were unable to return to Poland as their country was taken over by Russia.
The Royal Canadian Navy and their contribution to Operation OverLord is recognized by this monument at the war cemetery at Beny-sur-Mer.
