Welcome back. If you just landed here and missed part one…click here.
Otherwise, let’s continue looking at places to see
and things to do.
Remember you can click on any photo to enlarge it.
11. Visit a park
London…well, Central London…has huge beautiful parks. Visit some with us…click here.
12. Visit WWII sites
There are monuments all over the city. Take your time and search some of them out.
There are many museums devoted to this devastating time in London’s history. If you are in Central London, the Churchill War Rooms (one of five sites of the Imperial War Museums) are highly recommended.
13. Walk in a variety of city boroughs. Each has its own distinctive “flavour”
above: Bayswater area
below: Cadogan Square area
14. Visit (maybe even shop in?) iconic British stores.
Marks and Spencer
Hamleys London
But also remember there are markets in outlying neighbourhoods.
Portobello Market (Notting Hill area)
Camden Canal Market…where you can even arrive by canal boat!
(We took Jason’s Original Canal Trip on a narrow canal boat. Great experience!)
15. Enjoy a hearty English breakfast before heading out each day!
16. Canada House
As Canadians we had to see where our Embassy is.
Canada House has prime location right at the start of The Mall.
So from there, walk up the Mall to Buckingham Palace…where we began in Part One!
Seriously, we could fill another two pages of things to see in London…so let’s stop here.
Nope…one more I have to share.
It is number One on our list if we are fortunate enough to visit London again. It was still under construction during our last visit but is open now. I understand it has an observation deck and I really want to see London from up that high.
17. The Shard
Do visit London and find your own special spots.
