Just a short drive (or a lengthy walk) from the resort village of Mont Tremblant, Quebec, one finds the Old Village.

Aside: I love the signs at pedestrian crosswalks. It would be nice if more communities made this effort!

The Old Village is a rather small village, nestled in a tree covered, hilly area…and it is a charming village.

There is a wonderful little hall used as an exhibition/sales place for some excellent local artists. I guess it was an old train station as it called Place de la Gare. Various artists take turns hosting the building. Today it is artist Michel Normandeau (check out that name. His paintings are wonderful!)

Lovely Lac Mercier is at the edge of the village.

Take note of the icons on the fence in front of the hotel. Do they look familiar? Think…swimmer, cyclist, runner.

If you are familiar with the Ironman triathlon race you likely recognized the icons as part of the Ironman. Mont Tremblant is home to one of the official Ironman race courses. Hmmm, that might explain some of the “extra” colored lines on some of the roads, here!

I wonder…does blue line mean runner or cyclist?
